Forts and water around Aalsmeer and Uithoorn

Your route starts at Het Spoorhuis Uithoorn. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and cake before you jump on the saddle to cycle to the Kromme Mijdrecht. Along the banks of this peat river you will find one of the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands. Rippling water, neat meadows with cows and old farms: you will enjoy yourself here! You will pass the Westveense Molen, a polder mill from 1676. Further on you will come through Woerdense Verlaat, the lock originally dates from the fifteenth century. In the polder it is quiet cycling on car-free roads. On the cycle path you cycle between the Langeraarse Plassen, further on you cycle a good stretch along the Westeinderplassen. At Brasserie Nieuwe Meer you can get off for a pit stop, before you cycle back to the Uithoorn.
