Forts and water around Aalsmeer and Uithoorn

Your route starts at Het Spoorhuis Uithoorn. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee and cake before you jump on the saddle to cycle to the Kromme Mijdrecht. Along the banks of this peat river you will find one of the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands. Rippling water, tight meadows with cows and old farms: you can enjoy yourself here! You pass the Westveense Molen, a polder mill from 1676. Further on you pass through Woerdense Verlaat, the lock originally dates from the fifteenth century. In the polder it is quiet cycling on low-traffic roads. On the cycle path you cycle between the Langeraarse Plassen, further on you cycle for a long distance along the Westeinderplassen. At Brasserie Nieuwe Meer you can get off for a pit stop before you drive back to Uithoorn.
