Description
The route starts at Hotel Snouck van Loosen in Enkhuizen. Enkhuizen has developed into an important tourist centre with marinas, Sprookjeswonderland and the Zuiderzee Museum. The flourishing flower bulb cultivation and a picturesque centre that is still enclosed by a rampart and intersected by canals make a visit to Enkhuizen an unforgettable day out. The Dutch polder landscape is ideal for a relaxing bike ride. Polder Het Grootslag was drained in 1423. When you cycle on the IJsselmeerdijk, you can see the fifteen-metre-high De Ven lighthouse looming from afar, a square brick tower from 1700. A picture!
