Cycling through Maastricht and the hills

Beautiful Maastricht is easy to explore by bike. You drive through the beautiful Heuvelland around this old city. It will be a long day full of sights and views!

Mergelkerk
You cycle through a landscape of sloped forests, grassy fields and fruit orchards. In the old villages, half-timbered houses and marl churches give you the feeling that you are on holiday abroad. You pass Eijsden Castle, the current pleasure garden dates from 1636. In Eijsden you see many monumental mansions, such as on the Diepstraat and the old Maaskade. You can cross the Maas on a ferry, nice and nostalgic!

Sint-Servaas Bridge
You cycle a few kilometers through Wallonia, after crossing the canal you pass through the Flemish border village of Kanne where you have a view of the Sint-Pietersberg. Drive along the Jeker river into the historic city center of Maastricht. You can cycle here, but it is better to enjoy all those monumental sights on foot with your bicycle in hand. From the thirteenth-century Sint-Servaas Bridge, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands, you have a beautiful view of the city and the Maas.
