Description

A change of food makes you eat: explore Limburg Belgium and fall in love with the picturesque villages in the charming province. There is a lot of agriculture and livestock farming in the area. This area is also known for its rolling landscape with very fertile soils and most of it is used for fruit growing. The area is known for having an important place in the fruit growing sector. Due to its fertile lands and favorable location, this has traditionally been one of the most important economic activities of Sint-Truiden, the pleasant town in Haspengouw that you will pass through during your tour. Just east of Sint-Truiden you will find beautiful Zepperen. Zepperen is first mentioned in the eighth century.
The village was founded near the Melsterbeek, where many traces from Roman times have been found. Until the end of the eighteenth century, the village was an exclave within the principality of Liège. Due to its favorable location near Sint-Truiden, Zepperen subsequently developed into a commuter town where many commuters who work in Sint-Truiden live.
