Castle route't Rozendael, Nijenhuis and De Colckhof

Your cycle route starts at Restaurant Zalen De Mol. One of the beautiful estates that you will see during your tour is Kasteel't Rozendael. “Erve Rozendal” was first mentioned in 1583, as a tenant farm at Bredenhorst manor house. When the Het Nijenhuis estate was bought by the same owner in 1987, a continuous nature reserve was created. The Nijenhuis is one of the best preserved manors in Overijssel, with an imposing castle in a beautiful landscape. It is first mentioned in 1382. You will now find Museum de Fundatie there. The De Colckhof estate is also centuries old: it already existed around 1300. The neoclassical country house was built in 1840. Romantic English gardens with winding avenues, water features and fairytale vistas of green lands are home to more than sixty bird species.
