The forests between Breda and Belgium

Between Breda and the Belgian border are some extensive forests. This route takes you through the Mastbos, among other things, and you also cycle a bit through the area around the Belgian towns of Meerle and Meer.

Mastbos  First you ride through the Mastbos with its stately long lanes. Now that's a nice way to loosen up your legs. Then you ride through several contiguous forests: the Ulvenhoutse Bos, the Sint-Annabos and the Prinsenbos. Some forest plots in this vast forest area are centuries old!

Lange Gooren In the old centre of Chaam you can admire the Ledevaert church. This building originally dates from the sixteenth century, after the Second World War it was extensively restored. In the area of Meerle and Meer it is quiet cycling through the Flemish farmland. After you have crossed the border again, you cycle through the Krochten and the Lange Gooren, an elongated nature reserve consisting of coniferous forests and marshes.
