Mechelen-aan-de-Maas, Dilsen and Neeroeteren

In addition to the large river Maas, the Bosbeek and Zanderbeek also flow through the municipality. If you look closely, you will see traces of the city's history. The planned street pattern from the time of the foundation of Maaseik is still clearly recognizable and the foundations of the Eikerpoort were discovered near the Mayor Philipslaan. Remains of the count's castle were also found in the parking garage under Kolonel Aertsplein. These foundations can still be seen today.

Maasmechelen aan de Maas is also a municipality in the Belgian province of Limburg. It is a border municipality and a former mining municipality, but Maasmechelen is best known for Maasmechelen Village. Here you can enjoy shopping and buy branded clothing, often at outlet prices.
