Description

It is beautiful to cycle around the town of Diepenheim. Here you will find a scenic landscape of grasslands, fields, streams and small-scale forest plots. The Needse Achterveld nature reserve is also on your route. This is one of the few remaining wet heathlands in the Netherlands. At junction 30 you pass the forest-covered Needse Berg, an almost 35 meter high moraine. In Geesteren you will pass the Reformed Church, which originally dates from the eleventh century. It is one of the few Dutch churches with a gable roof. After you have driven a bit along the Twente Canal, you will pass the Johanneskerk from 1679 on the edge of Diepenheim. A little further on you will find Huis Diepenheim, and a little later you will cycle past Nijenhuis Castle. The route ends at Farm Apartments & Camping't Katreel.
