Description
The Zwarte Meer is a water-rich nature reserve that was created during the reclamation of the Noordoostpolder. This cycle route takes you through this special area where you will encounter numerous bird species.
Noordoostpolder
Genemuiden is the first place on the route you visit. From here you cycle around the Zwarte Meer, which is no less than 1,700 hectares in size. From the cycle path you have a beautiful view over the rippling water as you drive into the Noordoostpolder. Here you cycle past meadows, tree nurseries and fields. It is nice and quiet here to travel for miles. In between you will pass through the village of Ens.
Historical Camps
You cross the Ramsdiep via the Ramspol Bridge. You drive through the polders towards IJsselmuiden. From the dike you have a beautiful view over the IJssel. You cross the river for a tour through Kampen. You will see many historic buildings here. You will also drive past B&B PolderPoort, a comfortable and beautiful overnight address. The last part of the route takes you back through the polder on car-free roads. Get some fresh air!
