Tour of IJssel, Olst and Deventer

From Deventer you drive a long way along the floodplains of the IJssel. Cycling along the dike you have a beautiful view of the rippling water. You pass some old farms and the Houdt Braef Stant mill from 1856. In Olst you will see the late medieval village church. Around junction 38 you drive through the Duursche Waard: a nature reserve of watercourses, swamp and small-scale forest. In the rural area north of Deventer it is nice to cycle through the Salland bocage landscape. You will also pass the Boxbergen Estate here. The current manor dates from 1653. In the village of Wesepe you will pass the fourteenth-century Nicholas Church. Finally, you cycle through the old heart of Deventer, where you will see many monumental buildings. The route ends at Hotel Restaurant Huis Vermeer.
