Cycling through nature near Broekhuizen

Around Broekhuizen it is beautiful to cycle through the quiet and natural countryside. First you cycle southwards on car-free roads. The Maas flows on the left, from the saddle you occasionally catch a glimpse of this river. You pass Lottum, the village known for its rose cultivation. You cycle past the Markt here, after which you enter the Schuitwater a little later. This nature reserve has formed around a former Maas arm. You will find alder swamp forests, open water and damp grass and hay fields. Just past Megelsum you cycle through't Sohr. This new nature reserve consists of a former Maas arm and a swamp forest. Along the Maas you cycle through a number of charming church villages. The route ends at Het Maashotel Broekhuizen. Here you can go to Bij Christoffel for a meal.
