Description
The route goes through the Maasheggen landscape. This unique area stretches from Oeffelt to Vierlingsbeek and is on the UNESCO heritage list. The hedges, especially Hawthorn, bloom in May/June.
The route also passes the Kruisheren Monastery in Saint Agatha. The garden and visitor center can be visited.
The second half of the route goes through the protected nature reserve De Vilt. This is a peat bog area and is a remnant of the old Maasarm.
