Description

The historic city of Amersfoort is a wonderful destination for a city walk. This route takes you past the Monnikendam, the famous gate of Amersfoort. Two round wall towers are connected by an arch: a water passage that used to be closed by a gate. You can also see the Sint Joriskerk and the Hofje De Armen de Poth. The authentic historic houses that can be found here are a real must. The Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren is 98 meters high and the center of the Netherlands. From April to October you can go up here with a guide. You will also pass the beer brewery De Drie Ringen where you can enjoy an Amersfoort beer. The route starts and ends at Amersfoort station so that you can easily get started right away.
