‘Fietsen door het Water’ in Bokrijk

At junction 91 in Bokrijk you cycle straight through the ponds of De Wijers. The bike path is more than 200 meters long. The cyclists look over the water surface, passers-by only see their heads sticking out. A visual tour de force that has been awarded several times. Don't forget to post a photo with #FDHW.

3941 Hechtel-Eksel

This chapel dates from the 18th century, early 19th century. Expectant mothers came to invoke Mary, the Cause of our Joy. In 1975 the chapel had to be demolished due to improvements to the Overpelterbaan. The current prayer house was built by local residents and dates from 1980.

Kelchterhoef is the ideal starting point to discover De Wijers or ideal for taking your cycling break. Enjoy a nice drink in Hoeve Jan, De Bosberg, tavern Het Vaartje or 'd Ouw Keet. The latter two are located on a 20 ha large lake and from the terrace you get the beautiful view as a gift. You can also take a break on the tree dream bench at Hoeve Mieneke or the wooden deck on the water. Why not even order a picnic package and eat on the picnic island in the reeds?
