Description

With this route you will experience a beautiful cycling day in Breda and the wooded countryside of this Nassau city. First you drive to the Liesbos, the largest old pedunculate oak forest in the Netherlands. The Liesbos has been in the possession of the Lord of Breda for centuries. From 1403 these were the Counts of Nassau, the ancestors of the royal family. They mainly used the forest for hunting. Further on you will come across the cozy market of Princenhage, a former village. In the historic center of Breda you can view the sixteenth-century Spanjaardsgat. North of the city you cycle through the forests of the Vrachelse Heide. In Den Hout there are several beautiful monumental buildings along the centuries-old Brink. You cycle back to Brasserie Boschdal via Terheijden.
