Get to know Terheijden, Drimmelen and Made in Brabant. Along the way you cycle past various mills and come across a fortification from the Eighty Years' War.
Brabant countryside
From the starting point you drive towards the village of Made, where you pass the first mill: Hoop Doet Leven. This mill was built in 1867. Then you cross Made and the surrounding countryside towards the water. You follow the Amertak up towards the harbor village of Drimmelen.
Biesbosch
You drive along the edge of De Biesbosch National Park. A little further on, in Hooge Zwaluwe, you will find the Zeldenrust mill. This mill was built in 1866 to grind grain. The mill was also used for this purpose until 1946. At the end of the cycle route you will pass De Kleine Schans in Terheijden, a fortification from the Eighty Years' War. A Spanish army camp was located here around 1590. The fortress was built in 1637 to protect shipping.
