Description
During the annual carnival, Schaijk is called'Moesland\\\'. Carnival is fully celebrated in Schaijk, with the spectacular parade as the highlight. The name Moesland refers to the kale that is grown in this agricultural area. The outlying area between Schaijk and Herpen has traditionally been a floodplain area. The Maas used to flow here, hence the name'Maasland\\\'.
