Water sources Limburg - Susteren & Roosteren

These two sources, Roosteren and Susteren, provide drinking water for parts of Central and South Limburg. Careful handling of the soil is therefore important here. That is why the groundwater protection area runs from the Belgian border straight through the Netherlands all the way to the German border.

The walking route takes you past WML\\\'s water wells in the De Rug nature reserve along the bank of the Maas in Roosteren. Here WML pumps up Maas water, which is already partly filtered through the gravel in the bed along the Maas. Careful handling of the soil is important here.
