WML - Susteren & Roosteren

These two sources, Roosteren and Susteren, provide drinking water for parts of Central and South Limburg. Careful handling of the soil is therefore important here. That is why the groundwater protection area runs from the Belgian border right through the Netherlands all the way to the German border.

The walking route takes you past WML\\\'s water wells in the De Rug nature reserve along the banks of the Maas in Roosteren. Here, WML pumps up Maas water that is already partly filtered via the gravel in the soil along the Maas. Careful handling of the soil is important here. That is why the groundwater protection area runs from the Belgian border straight through the Netherlands all the way to the German border.
