Water sources Limburg - Susteren & Roosteren

These two sources, Roosteren and Susteren, provide drinking water for parts of Central and South Limburg. Careful handling of the soil is therefore important here. That is why the groundwater protection area from the Belgian border runs straight through the Netherlands all the way to the German border.

The walking route takes you past WML 's wells in the De Rug nature reserve along the banks of the Maas in Roosteren. Here, WML pumps up water from the Meuse, which is already partly filtered via the gravel in the bottom along the Meuse. Careful handling of the soil is important here.
