Tour of Lichtenvoorde: along boulder and vineyard

Your walking route starts at Hotel Restaurant de Koppelpaarden in Lichtenvoorde. Your walking tour will give you the best possible introduction to the famous coulisse landscape that characterises the Achterhoek. You will experience a constant alternation of fields, meadows and winding streams, hedgerows and forests and picturesque Saxon farmhouses and stately mansions. Narrow country lanes and sandy roads through the forests will take you around a beautiful original part of the Netherlands. Pay a visit to Wijndomein Besselinkschans, where delicious wines are now made in the Achterhoek! The winegrowers open their vineyards to the public. On the way back, you will see a boulder weighing over 20,000 kilos on the market. This boulder was dragged here in 1874 by 99 shoemakers from Lichtenvoorde on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the reign of King William III.
