Tour of Lichtenvoorde: along boulder and vineyard

Your walking route starts at Hotel Restaurant de Koppelpaarden in Lichtenvoorde. Your walking tour will provide you with an optimal introduction to the famous scenic landscape that characterizes the Achterhoek. You will experience a constant variety of fields, meadows and winding streams, hedgerows and forests and picturesque Saxon farms and stately mansions. Narrow country roads and dirt roads through the woods lead you through a beautiful, original part of the Netherlands. Pay a visit to Wijndomein Besselinkschans, delicious wines are now being made in the Achterhoek! The winegrowers open their vineyards to the public. On the way back you see a boulder weighing more than 20,000 kilos at the market. This boulder was dragged here in 1874 by 99 shoemakers from Lichtenvoorde on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the reign of King Willem III.
