Hainaut, the Belgian province of which Mons is the capital, holds the national record of UNESCO recognized heritage with 20 classified sites, buildings or events. This is truly exceptional in such a small area...

Your tour starts in the heart of the city center of Doudou. The ritual Ducasse, to which the museum of the Doudou is dedicated, is recognized by UNESCO as one of the masterpieces of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity.

Continue your tour to the only baroque belfry in Belgium that was already visible to you at the starting point. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999 along with other belfries in Flanders and Wallonia. Don't forget to make a detour to the rue de Nimy where the Mundaneum is located, nicknamed « the Google papers », also a place for temporary exhibitions recognized by UNESCO since 2013.

Keep following the nodes and you will see the Héribus slag heap: remnant of the past of the Borinage, it offers an incomparable view from the top: belfry and Saint Waltrude church, nearby slag heaps, Mont Panisel.

Finish your loop with a stop at Silex\\\'s, an archaeological site in Spiennes considered one of the oldest and largest centers of silex mining in Europe and recognized by UNESCO since 2000. Take advantage of your visit to descend into the mines!
