Tour Blankenberge

The route starts in the pleasant seaside resort of Blankenberge. It is one of the most important seaside resorts on the Belgian coast and attracts many tourists every year. It is very busy here all summer long and the beach is full of people who come to enjoy the sun and the water. The village has a number of beautiful sights and recreational opportunities, such as St. Roch's Church, the sea wall with its stone steps, the Blankenberge serpentarium and the Sea Life Center Blankenberge, where the world of marine flora and fauna is presented. De Haan has also traditionally been a real tourist city. Due to its favorable location on the coast, thousands of tourists are tempted here every year to seek out the sun, sea and beach. Yet there are few day trippers; the majority have a holiday home near this seaside resort. A few major events are organized every year, such as the sea consecration in Wenduine, the tourist's day, the Giant Festivities and the Vosseslag Festivities. A little further along the coast is the beautiful village of Wenduine. Wenduine is one of the few Belgian coastal municipalities with a dune area. This area is not easy to enter, hard work is being done to preserve and protect the dunes. There is a walking route through the dunes that takes you almost all the way back to Blankenberge. On the second highest dune is the Spioenkop, a lookout post that offers a phenomenal view of the beautiful coast. The route starts at Profile Jumpbikes, where you can park your car for free. With your bicycle discount pass you get a 10 euro discount on repairs and maintenance. It is therefore definitely advisable to have your bicycle inspected here by the skilled staff, so that you do not end up with a bike breakdown halfway through the route.
