Tour of Ravels, Arendonk and Reusel

Turnhout is seen by many as the capital of the Kempen. During excavations at the Oud Turnhout industrial estate in 2011, a burial pit with cremated bones and polished flint artefacts from the period 4000 BC was found. A unique discovery, because few traces from that time have been found in the Kempen. You also cycle through the Turnhouts Fen area: a large nature reserve of heathland and fens. In this area you pick up the Bels Lijntje: a former railway route between Turnhout and Tilburg. In the area surrounding the village of Ravels you will find the beautiful Regional Forests, with deciduous and coniferous trees and even more mysterious fens.
