Tour of Ravels, Arendonk and Reusel

Turnhout is seen by many as the capital of the Kempen. In 2011, during excavations on the business park of Oud Turnhout, a burial pit with cremated bones and polished artifacts in flint dating from the period 4000 BC was found. A unique discovery, because few traces of that time have been found in the Kempen. You also cycle through the Turnhouts Vennengebied: a large nature reserve of heathland and fens. In this area you pick up the Bels Lijntje: a former railway line between Turnhout and Tilburg. In the vicinity of the village of Ravels you will find the beautiful regional forests, with deciduous and coniferous trees and even more mysterious fens.
