Description

This route starts at a place to park, near bicycle shop Rooth 66. Here you can rent bicycles, handy! When you reach the edge of the Loenense Bos after fourteen kilometers, you will see a beautiful authentic sheepfold that is still in use. Nature is also impressive here: you drive through National Park Veluwezoom, where forest, heathland and sand drifts are home to a varied flora and fauna. You continue your journey through nature to the Open Air Museum on the outskirts of Arnhem. The buildings here were originally in other locations, but were transferred to the open-air museum. It provides a nice cross-section of historic buildings in the Netherlands. Back towards Hoenderloo you will be treated to beautiful views of the Hoge Veluwe.
