Walking through the woods at Heino

Your route starts at Restaurant De Veldhoek. Between Heino and Raalte, the beautiful forests and meadows of the Reelaer estate emerge, with a group of trees here and there. The house was built in the early twentieth century with a fortune made in the Indian sugar industry. This route leads you along the green edge of the estate. After a nice loop through the countryside and the woods near Heino, you will pass the water storage areas in the Heinosche Vloedgraven. For the Salland Waterproof project, local short-term storage facilities have been installed here that can contain water from a few hours to a day, to prevent flooding elsewhere. It is estimated that the disposal locations will have to be used once or twice a year.
