Walking through the woods near Heino

Your route starts at Restaurant De Veldhoek. Between Heino and Raalte, the beautiful forests and meadows of the Reelaer estate appear, with a group of trees here and there. The house was built at the beginning of the twentieth century with a fortune that was amassed in the Indian sugar industry. This route takes you along the green edge of the estate. After a beautiful loop through the countryside and the forests near Heino, you will pass the water storage areas in the Heinosche Vloedgraven. For the Salland Waterproof project, local short-term storages have been constructed here that can hold water for a few hours to a day, to prevent flooding elsewhere. It is estimated that the storage locations will have to be used once or twice a year.
