All the characteristic landscapes of the Kempen come together on 130 hectares. Thanks to the presence of old wood, all five native woodpecker species breed here. It is even one of the few areas where the rare Middle Spotted Woodpecker is still common. It is embedded in nature reserves, so you can easily walk to Landgoed de Utrecht. This was once a vast heathland area of which approximately 400 hectares now remain. A large part of the estate is planted with Scots pines and Douglas firs. You really feel like you are in no man's land in this tranquil and vast area.
