Tour of Maasduinen from Gennep

After a short trip through Germany you cycle to the Maasduinen. These river dunes are almost all covered with forest: the only way to protect the fields and meadows from the drifting sand! In this national park you cycle through a series of wild forests, patches of heathland and fields. You will also discover the Bleijenbeek Estate. This country estate dates back to the Middle Ages and is located on a sloping river dune. The coniferous forest was created at the end of the nineteenth century. Here and there it is interrupted by meadows and fields. The Eckeltse Bergen and a piece of heathland complete the variety. After a terrace in Afferden you meander through the Maasduinen and along the Maas back to Gennep.
