Description
Characteristic of this route is the village't Woudt in the middle of the polder with a church and parsonage, a row of houses, a nice restaurant and three farms. The prehistoric, irregular creek pattern is still partly visible in the pattern of the ditches of the polder.
A dike was constructed straight through the polder in 2005 with the aim of using part of the polder as a water catchment during extreme rainfall.
This walking route runs around the Woudse Polder and is partly on cycle paths and partly on the grass path along the Zweth and Groeneveldse Watering.
The Woudse Polder route has been published by the Paths working group of the Midden-Delfland Association as one of the 40 Ommetjes. These detours vary in length between 3 and 9 km. For these Ommetjes and also longer walks, you can visit the website of the Midden-Delfland Association www.middendelflandvereniging.nl/recreatie/wandelen
