Groenzoom Berkel and Rodenrijs walking route

You put on your walking shoes for a beautiful route through nature and along the water. You follow De Groenzoom, a nature and recreation area that connects Midden-Delfland with the Groene Hart. Due to the excavation of the peat, the Groenzoom is located well below sea level and is therefore surrounded by dikes and reservoirs. Several pumping stations keep the area dry. In 2010, work began on converting an agricultural area into nature. Through good management, all kinds of herbs and plants have been able to establish themselves here. The diversity in the area is still increasing, so you can now spot all kinds of birds, butterflies and other insects. You always discover something new!
