Around Maashorst and Zeeland

This walking route starts in the town of Zeeland, yet relatively far from the province of the same name. The name Zeeland comes from the Old High German "selilant" or the Latin "terra salica", which means "land near a court yard". A hall court are one or more larger hall farms. This nature reserve borders on Zeeland and you immediately walk through the beautiful forests. The vast nature reserve consists mainly of deciduous and coniferous forests. You can also see remnants of the old farmland with fields, hedgerows and wet grasslands. Enjoy the silence for a moment before you walk back into pleasant Zeeland.
