Tour of Achel, Bocholt and Hamont

With this route you can fully enjoy nature in the border area. Fish ponds are wonderfully quiet places between the trees and at the edge of the mysterious fens in the Malpie you can let your thoughts wander endlessly. You will also discover the Achelse Heide. Get off at Grandcafé Markt 14 in Valkenswaard! You cycle back via beautiful Leenderstrijp. In this small village you will see some beautiful old Kempen long-gable farms. Just outside the village you can view the beautiful St. John's Chapel from the Kapelstraat. This monument dates from 1843. You will also pass the Heimolen, a corn mill from 1754. The Leenderbos is mainly planted with Scots pines that were once intended for mining timber, but you will also see heathland, fens, drifting dunes and winding paths.
