Description
With this route you can fully enjoy the nature in the border area. Fish ponds are wonderfully quiet places between the trees and on the edge of the mysterious fens in the Malpie you can let your thoughts wander endlessly. You will also discover the Achelse Heide. You cycle back via the beautiful Leenderstrijp. In this small village you will see some beautiful old Kempen long-façade farms. Just outside the village you can view the beautiful Sint-Janskapel from the Kapelstraat. This monument dates from 1843. You will also pass the Heimolen, a corn mill from 1754. The Leenderbos is mainly planted with Scots pines that were once intended for mining timber, but you will also see heathland, fens, drifting dunes and winding paths.
