Tour of Orvelte, Westerbork and lookout tower

You start the route at De Kippesthee Koffie & Thee. In the area around Schoonoord and Odoorn you cycle through beautiful wooded areas. Sometimes the trees suddenly part and you unexpectedly come across an open field. Get off in beautiful Orvelte, a car-free green village. It is one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. In this open-air museum you have plenty of time to get acquainted with Drenthe's history. Westerbork is known for the National Monument Camp Westerbork, but the village itself is also worth a visit. Visit the Museum of Paper Cutting Art here. Just outside Elp you cycle into the nature reserve around the Elperstroom. Groundwater is very important in this humid area. You cycle back past a lookout tower in the middle of the forest.
