The area around Amsterdam is ideal for cycling. It's nice to realize that the vibrant city life is only a few kilometers away from you, while you enjoy nature. You cycle via Diemen to Kustbatterij Diemerdam, a 19th-century military defense work of the Defense Line of Amsterdam. Via the cute fortified town of Naarden you cycle through the Naardermeer, a protected nature reserve on the northwestern border of the Gooi. A green oasis with clear water, dense marsh and marshy meadows.
