Description
As you cycle through Bolsward, you'll pass the Monsma Estate, built by the mayor in 1709. Via the charming town of Makkum, you'll cycle north along the Wadden Sea, a delight on a beautiful day with all the boats and the sparkling water. The Wadden Sea is a shallow sea where mudflats and sandbanks are exposed at low tide. The area is of international importance. Numerous birds breed here, and many seals are born here. You'll also pass the Afsluitdijk, a magnificent sight.
