Ovelo - The High Fens between Rur and Warche

Two natural landscapes, one route. This bike tour is divided into two parts, the forest areas with extensive peat patches in the Hoge Venen-Eifel Nature Park and the open meadow areas around the Warche. You cross the lake of Robertville twice with beautiful views. Visitor center Center de Nature of Botrange is the starting point and from there you cycle through the woods to the valley of Bayehon. Do not forget to visit the waterfall Cascade de Bayehon. After an altitude difference, you will arrive at the first crossing of Lake Robertville, the ideal place for lovers of a refreshing dip in the natural waters. Continue on the route and after a second crossing of the lake you will come to an old railway bed. On the rails next to the bike path you will be accompanied by draisines (a small powered pedal vehicle).
