Tour of Kampina and Oisterwijkse fens

This route takes you to the famous Oisterwijk Forests and Fens. You'll walk past several old fens where you can take a short break on a bench. Along the rugged banks, you'll smell the fragrant bog myrtle and, in season, admire enchanting water lilies. You'll also encounter several fens in the Kampina, such as the Palingven. The Kampina is a vast nature reserve whose heart consists of a vast heathland surrounded by forest. The name derives from the Roman word campina, meaning wasteland. In the Kampina, you can still see this primordial landscape.
