Tour of Kampina and Oisterwijkse fens

This walking route starts at Boshuys Hermitage. Take a moment for a cup of coffee on the beautiful terrace by the water before putting on your walking shoes. With this route you will discover the famous Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen. You will walk along several old fens where you can take a short break on a bench. On the rugged banks you can smell the fragrant bog myrtle and in the season you can admire fairytale water lilies. You will also come across several fens on the Kampina, such as the Palingven. The Kampina is an extensive nature reserve, the heart of which consists of an enormous heathland surrounded by forest. The name is derived from the Roman word campina, which means wild land. In the Kampina you can still see that primeval landscape.
