Description
Sint-Truiden is close to Hasselt and Tongeren in Flemish Limburg. A beautiful town whose belfry on the Grote Markt and the St. Agnes Beguinage can be found on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This cycle route of about fifty kilometers departs from the office of Toerisme Sint-Truiden through the fruity Haspengouw. This region in the south of Limburg is ideal for fruit growing and wine growing due to the rolling landscape. Along the way you cycle through this hilly area on car-free roads past castles, churches, idyllic church villages, breweries and distilleries and you pass no fewer than four wine estates. You will be introduced to authentic wine stories during a tour at the Hoenshof, Kitsberg, Marsnil and Gloire de Duras wine estates. And are you cycling here around April? Then the landscape turns white with beautiful spring blossoms. You can enjoy this breathtaking scene at some viewpoints that you pass in the landscape.
