Enjoy a nice snack between ham and cabbage

This route takes you to the rural and wooded area around Ham, a village in Limburg and Beringen with its mining history. The first kilometers you drive along the Dessel-Kwaadmechelen canal to Paal where you will encounter a gem"De Paalse Plas\\\". Be surprised by the 40-hectare lake where both young and old can enjoy themselves. The route takes you via the former Kolenspoor to B-mine: the Beringen mine site. This site is the largest industrial heritage site in Flanders and unique in Europe. Under the name B-mine, the site has now been repurposed as a tourist-recreational project. Nowhere else is the mix between heritage, recreation and tourism such a success: shopping, eating and drinking, sports, a visit to the Mining Museum or playing on the adventure mountain, it's all possible there.
