Enjoy a nice meal between ham and cabbage

This route takes you through the rural and wooded area around Ham, a village in Limburg, and Beringen, with its mining history. The first few kilometers follow the Dessel-Kwaadmechelen canal to Paal, where you'll encounter the gem "De Paalse Plas." Prepare to be amazed by the 40-hectare lake, where both adults and children can have a wonderful time. The route then leads you via the former Kolenspoor railway line to B-mine: the Beringen mining site. This site is the largest industrial heritage site in Flanders and unique in Europe. Under the name B-mine, the site has now been repurposed as a tourism and recreation project. Nowhere else is the blend of heritage, recreation, and tourism so successful. Shopping, dining, sports, a visit to the Mining Museum, or playing on the adventure mountain—it's all possible here.
