From the most beautiful panorama to the most beautiful village in Flanders

You start your route at the Terhills Hotel, right past the luxurious outlet village Maasmechelen Village and the main entrance gate to the Hoge Kempen National Park. Park your bike here and walk onto the old mine slag heap. This panorama is the most beautiful in all of Flanders! A second entrance gate to the National Park is located at junction 60, the Mechelse Heide. Enjoy the view at a height of 104 meters or discover the purple heath from mid-August to September. At junction 58 you will discover Oud-Rekem. Awarded the most beautiful village in Flanders in 2008. The castle d\\\'Aspremont-Lynden, the museum church, the museum pharmacy, Senden distillery and the many historic buildings together form a beautiful historic village that takes you back in time. From Oud-Rekem you cycle further along the Maas. The Maas is an impressive rain river and forms the Belgian-Dutch border for 40 km from Maastricht to Kessenich. The RivierPark has a varied landscape with a tangle of old river arms, levees, channels and gravel banks.
