During this 44 km long cycling route you will discover 8 Lommel hotspots, from breathtaking nature to cozy terraces and the most iconic places in the city. You start your adventure in the spacious parking lot of De Soeverein. The first stop is at the impressive House of Nature (hotspot #1), a monumental steel sculpture that serves as the gateway to Bosland National Park, with its 7.5 meters height and 50 meters width. Then you cycle through the Sahara forest towards the Bocholt-Herentals canal, where you pass an attractive café in the middle of nature. Once you cross the canal, the route leads you to the elegant Pedestrian Bridge (hotspot #2), which blends beautifully into the green landscape thanks to its S-shaped design with steel and wood. After following the calm waters of the canal, you arrive at the charming Blauwe Kei area (hotspot #3), where you can relax at the cozy bicycle café with a large terrace and a view of the water. Further on you come to the elegant cyclist bridge at the Kristalpark (hotspot #4), which takes you past an ultra-modern wind farm and the largest solar panel park in the Benelux. You are now halfway through the cycle route. A little further on we again find the serenity along the water of the canal to Beverlo. Here you can make a stop at the terraces located along the Blauwe Reiger Yacht Club (hotspot #5). After your short break, you cycle to the iconic bicycle bridge'Cycling through the Trees\\\' (hotspot #6), where you cycle via a double circle to the tops of the trees, 10 meters above the ground! Continue your route past the impressive German military cemetery (hotspot #7), the largest Western European cemetery from WWII, where you can enjoy the famous Lommelse meatballs at the nearby restaurant. End your terrace tour in the bustling city center of Lommel (hotspot #8), where you have an abundance of choice of cafes, restaurants and terraces. You end back at De Soeverein, where you can also find a playground with brasserie.
