On this 44 km cycling route, you'll discover eight Lommel hotspots, from breathtaking nature to cozy terraces and the city's most iconic spots. Your adventure begins at the spacious parking lot of De Soeverein. Your first stop is the impressive House of Nature (hotspot #1), a monumental steel sculpture that serves as a gateway to Bosland National Park, at 7.5 meters high and 50 meters wide. Then, you cycle through the Sahara forest towards the Bocholt-Herentals Canal, where you'll pass a charming café nestled in nature. Once you cross the canal, the route leads you to the elegant Footbridge (hotspot #2), whose S-shaped design of steel and wood blends beautifully into the green landscape. After following the calm waters of the canal, you'll arrive at the charming Blauwe Kei area (hotspot #3), where you can relax at the cozy cycling café with a large terrace and water views. Further on, you'll reach the elegant cyclist bridge at Kristalpark (hotspot #4), which takes you past a state-of-the-art wind farm and the largest solar panel park in the Benelux. You're now halfway through the cycling route. A little further on, you'll find the tranquility of the canal to Beverlo once again. Here, you can stop at the terraces located next to the Blauwe Reiger Yacht Club (hotspot #5). After your short break, cycle on to the iconic "Cycling through the Trees" bicycle bridge (hotspot #6), where you'll cycle a double circle to the treetops, 10 meters above the ground! Continue your route past the impressive German military cemetery (hotspot #7), the largest Western European cemetery from WWII, where you can enjoy the famous Lommelse meatballs at the nearby restaurant. Conclude your terrace stroll in Lommel's bustling city center (hotspot #8), where you'll find a wide selection of cafés, restaurants, and terraces. You end up back at De Soeverein, where you will also find a playground with a brasserie.
