Tour of Genemuiden from't Olde Staduus

Your walking route starts at't Olde Staduus, the historic former city hall in Genemuiden, and leads you past De Spil: both Philadelphia care locations. First you walk to the Sas, the flood lock that lies between the inner and outer harbour. This monumental flood lock was built in 1866 to protect the hinterland against flooding from the Zuiderzee. The beautiful inner harbor offers a berth for many tourist boats in the summer, which is nice to see. Back at your starting point, take some time to browse around: the TIP (Tourist Information Point) in't Olde Staduus is the address for city walks, cycling and walking routes and regional products. Important to know: Genemuiden appreciates the Sunday rest. The town originally has a Calvinist slant in work and society.
