Tour of Oudleusen: the fish ladders of Vilsteren

This walk starts at Natuurboerderij Lindehoeve in Dalfsen. Here the participants take care of animals and maintain the grounds and garden. You take a nice walk along the Overijsselse Vecht, the smallest rain river of the major Dutch rivers. Very special are the river dune complexes within cut-off meanders, for example the stone carnation, also known as the Vecht carnation, grows here. Right next to the Vilsteren weir you will find a fish ladder, a diversion that has been constructed around the weir so that fish can swim freely up and down the river. Back in Oudleusen you will pass the Memorial Crashed Lancaster Bomber, opposite Roggeland 10. This memorial commemorates the six killed crew members of the British Lancaster bomber, which crashed nearby on 20 October 1943.
