Hiking route Achterhoek: Hengelo and Huize t Kervel

This walking route starts at Puur Natuur, near Hengelo in Gelderland. The participants here are creative people. They make different products with ceramics and also with the 3D printer. From here you walk to Huize't Kervel. The country house and the surrounding canal are clearly visible from the dirt road. The estate was first mentioned in 1380, the current white building dates from 1870. During the Second World War, this was a frequently used hiding place, including for Jews and an English pilot. Now it is used as a school. A little later on the Krommedijk you dive into a sandy path again, right through the meadows. You walk right past a wine farm. No vineyards seen? Here they make wine from agricultural products such as wheat, barley, sugar beets and corn!
