Description

From here you first walk through the towns of De Lent and Maalbergen. Between these two farming hamlets you cross the Aa or Weerijs, a stream that originates in Belgium. This feeds the canals of Breda. You also walk a bit through the forest. It is part of Gooren en Krochten, an elongated nature reserve consisting of coniferous forests and swamps. Fragmented pieces of nature along the Belgian border are connected here. A sand ridge that is up to 12 meters high in places runs through it from north to south. This is the watershed between the river basins of the Aa or Weerijs in the west and the Mark in the east.
