Tour of the bird paradise Valkenhorst

With this route you will discover Valkenhorst with its bird sanctuary. It is named after the falcons that used to be captured here to be sold to noble courts at home and abroad. Now it is a bird paradise. You will also come to the Tongelreep stream right along the former fish ponds. These are now a bird sanctuary and are partly inaccessible. You walk straight through the forests to the hidden Brilven. You walk back along the edge of the Boswachterij het Leenderbos. This reclaimed forest was created as a job creation project. It is one of the first forests that were deliberately created to also serve as a recreational area.
