Tour of Oldenzaal and the German border area

Your route starts near Drilandsee lake, just over the German border. You first ride a stretch through the Dinkel valley, a picturesque stream. Then you ride through the forests at the foot of the Lonnekerberg, a 61-metre-high hill that is part of the moraines around Enschede and Oldenzaal. In the countryside you cycle through a park-like landscape with easily accessible paths, lots of greenery and hills. The Hulsbeek nature reserve is a former country estate where recreational lakes are now located. Take a break here at Restaurant Klein Afrika! You also explore Oldenzaal itself. This was once a small village, over the years it has grown into a beautiful and pleasant city. In the heart of the city you can still admire the thirteenth-century Sint-Plechelmusbasiliek.
