Tour of the Nijkerk countryside

In the outskirts of Nijkerk you will pass the monumental farm complex Klein Boeijen, a national monument in the hamlet of Hell. It is a hall house with the front house with cellar and the actual farm in the back house. Note the thatched wolf roof, red ridges in the ridge and the brick chimney with smoke hood. You will also pass Mill De Hoop. The first standard mill was built on this site in 1860, the current mill dates from the late nineteenth century. You can visit on Saturday, sometimes flour is still being milled. You cycle along a leafy road to Driedorp. You will also pass through Slingenhorst, a hamlet where you will see some historic farms.
