Description
Vast forests, meadows and fens, you will find them all within a very short distance of this lovely, hospitable terrace. From Goirle you cycle towards the green surroundings of Tilburg. Then you discover the Chaamse Bossen, once a rough area with sand drifts and wet heathland. Between 1900 and 1935, Scots pine was planted here in abundance. The fens were drained and where the area was too wet, grassland was created. A section of the Bels Lijntje, former railway, leads you to Riel and Molen Zandeind. During the Cold War, this was an air force lookout post to spot low-flying planes. Have fun discovering the beautiful nature of Brabant!
