Walking tour of Neterselse Heide

Your walking route starts at Camping De Couwenberg, in one of the most beautiful places in the Brabantse Kempen. First you walk along the Neterselse Heide. This natural monument is very varied and has more to offer than just heathland, with fens, stream valleys, forests and rivers. The Utrecht estate was once a vast heathland area of which approximately 400 hectares now remain. A large part of the estate is planted with Scots pines and Douglas firs. You really feel like you are in no man's land in this tranquil and vast area. You will discover the Flaestoren, a 24 meter high lookout tower between the Flaes and the Goorven. From here you have a beautiful view of the Utrecht Estate and the fens. You can get a good look at these vulnerable nature reserves.
